These four provide the institutional underpinnings to support the active academic research agendas of current SRC faculty, as well as support for students and faculty on campus and research clients.

UC DATA provides access to data collected from around the world and technical assistance in producing new datasets from administrative and other data sources.

Survey Services Facility offers a full range of services for surveys, including study design and planning; survey sampling; instrument design; data collection; data processing and management; and computer-assisted telephone interviewing. These are available to clientele in any combination, from one specific service to a completely integrated package of services which carries a research project from beginning to end.

The Center for Urban Ethnography(CUE) facilitates in-depth understanding of issues facing urban environments throughout the world; and instructs undergraduate and graduate students in the principles and techniques of various schools of ethnography. CUE's research topics include inequality, poverty, race and ethnic relations, crime and violence, economic development, and health. CUE offers regular training course and seminars.

The California Census Research Data Center, in partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau, provides researchers with access to non-public Census data under conditions that facilitate innovative research while safeguarding confidentiality.

The professional staff, associated faculty, and graduate and undergraduate students of the Survey Research Center comprise an intellectual community devoted to using and improving empirical social science methods.
