In the 1990's, UC DATA led the way in partnering with state and local governments.

As part of the evaulation of the state's welfare reform, UC DATA worked closely with the California Department of Social Services and several county welfare agencies collecting administrative data.

The collaborative relationships that were developed were key to resolving many of the issues in using confidential data.
